Thanksgiving is just around the corner and while sharing is caring, there are some items on your plate that you may need to keep to yourself! See below for a list of foods that are safe, and unsafe for your pets!
Approved Foods for Pets: (in moderation)
- Plain sweet potatoes
- Plain potatoes
- Apples
- Unseasoned white turkey meat
- Plain green beans
- Plain peas
- 100% pure canned pumpkin
Foods to Avoid:
- Seasoned turkey, turkey skin, or turkey bones
- Ham and other fatty meats
- Onions, Scallions, or Garlic
- Fatty Foods
- Yeast Dough
- Dishes with butter or milk
- Stuffing
- Grapes or Raisins
- Chocolate
- Nuts
Keep in mind that some foods considered “safe” should be plain and free of any seasonings or garnishes to ensure that your pup doesn’t get an upset tummy. And while your pups may love many of the foods you prepare during the holiday, remember to only give them table scraps in moderation. We hope you all have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!
