Group Volunteering

Special Events and Group Volunteering

Here at MAC, we work hard for the animals every day, but we can’t do it alone.

We rely on community partners to support our work, and in exchange, we  offer meaningful, hands-on experiences that help save lives, support local pet owners and strengthen our community.

For groups looking to volunteer their time here at MAC, we have 3 service options to choose from:

As hard as we try, the shelter is still not a home for any animal, and with 500+ animals in care each day, it can be stressful. Having toys and enrichment activities in their kennels is essential for making shelter life a bit easier. Your group will make toys and treats specifically designed to make the animals’ daily lives better

MAC believes that pets are family, and we provide pet food and other supplies to hundreds of local families every month to help pets stay in loving homes and out of the shelter system. Your group can help families by preparing pet food packages, organizing supply donations, and more.

There’s always work to be done around our facility, from landscaping, weeding, and gardening to repairing fencing and unique shelter maintenance, and improvement projects. Your group will help ensure our facility is safe for the animals and welcoming to potential adopters.

Please note that group events are limited to no more than 12 people (if children will be present, that number must include at least 2 adults who will remain actively engaged in supervision throughout the activity) and are subject to staff availability.
