City Pet Licenses

All cats and dogs living in the Cities of Chattanooga, Red Bank and Lakesite are required to be licensed and have a current Rabies vaccination. Your pet’s license is a legally required form of identification and is your best friend’s most valuable asset in getting them home safely in the chance they get lost.

Each year, McKamey Animal Center receives more than 5,000 animals, yet the vast majority of them have no form of identification to assist us in reuniting them with their families. Your pet can’t tell us where they live, so speak for them by purchasing a pet license today.

Unaltered Pets

These are pets that are Not spayed/neutered/fixed.

Altered Pets

Your pet is spayed/neutered and cannot reproduce.

For pet owners aged 65+, licensing is free for up to three pets if they are altered.

License Requirements

You must have proof of an up to date Rabies vaccine to purchase a City License. If you are in need of a Rabies Vaccine MAC offers weekly low-cost clinics to Hamilton Co. residents.

If you would like to reduce the license fee for your pet by having them spayed or neutered (altered/fixed), MAC offers low-cost spaying and neutering services for Hamilton Co. residents.

If you live in the Cities of Chattanooga, Red Bank or Lakesite you are legally required to license your pet with MAC. If you live in unincorporated Hamilton Co. you are still required to have a license with the Humane Educational Society.
